THE EDIT is operated by The Edit - Curated Interiors. This page explains, in plain language, what is tracked when you receive an email from us or visit this website, and how to stop it.

Who this is

What we track

• Email opens. Our emails contain a small, invisible image. When it loads, we record that the email was opened. This is common practice and does not always work reliably (some mail apps block it), so it is treated as a rough signal, not a precise one.
• Link clicks. Links in our emails route through a short redirect on our own domain before reaching their destination, so we know which link was clicked and when.
• Website analytics. This site uses Google Analytics to record visits and which buttons are used (booking, WhatsApp, phone, map, Instagram, and the logo). We do not knowingly collect names, addresses, or payment details through analytics. Google Analytics sets a cookie in your browser to tell repeat visits apart; you can block or clear it in your browser settings without affecting how the site works.

The booking form

When you request a showroom visit, the booking form collects your first name, last name and email address. It does not ask for a phone number or payment details. We use this only to arrange and confirm your visit.

The mailing list

If you choose to join our mailing list, the signup form collects your first name, last name and email address. It does not ask for a phone number or payment details. We use this only to tell you when new pieces arrive, a few times a year, and every email carries a link to leave the list. Submissions are received and stored by Netlify, the service that hosts this website; we do not pass them to any other company. Joining the mailing list is separate from any email you may have received from us, and you can be on one without being on the other.

Why

To understand whether this campaign is useful to the designers who receive it, and to avoid sending further emails to people who have already responded or asked to stop.

How long we keep it

Contact and engagement data is kept until you unsubscribe, or for 24 months of inactivity, whichever comes first.

Your choices

Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe link. You can also email charles@theeditla.store at any time to be removed or to ask what data we hold about you.

California privacy rights

If you are a California resident, you have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) over the personal information described on this page.

In the past 12 months we have collected two categories of personal information: identifiers (your name and email address, from the booking form, the mailing list signup, or professional listings) and internet activity (whether our emails were opened, which links were clicked, and the analytics described above). We collect it for the purposes set out under Why, and we keep it for the period set out under How long we keep it.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We have never done so.

You may ask us to:

• Know what personal information we hold about you, where it came from, and who we disclosed it to.
• Delete the personal information we hold about you.
• Correct personal information that is inaccurate.
• Opt out of any sale or sharing — though as above, we do neither.

To make a request, email charles@theeditla.store. We will verify it by replying to the email address we hold for you. An authorized agent may make a request on your behalf with your written permission. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights — your access to the showroom, to pricing, or to any service is unaffected.

Who we share it with

We use standard service providers to send email and host this site (currently Google and Netlify). We do not sell contact data to third parties.
